Taberna Community of New Bern, North Carolina

Taberna is almost built out.  So fast, even the developers can't believe it!  This elegant,  Carolina style neighborhood was developed by Weyerhaeuser.  Taberna, meaning "place of hospitality" was the first name of Bern Switzerland, New Bern's sister city  namesake.  It is about 5 miles east of downtown New Bern on Highway 70 east--heading to Cherry Point  and  the beaches,  about 40 min. away.  Just far enough actually. We are not in the hurricane No. #1 hit zone-(despite what National TV told you.)                                                

Taberna is more attractive every day as the trees fill out and the elegant plantings mature. The community  encompasses 1,100-acres, and offers a championship golf course, canoe trails, tennis etc. Approximately 700-800 homes in Taberna.
